Sunset or sunrise?

A small movie clip from the back of the hotel from tonight. It is absolutely fantastic to live just a few hundred meters from the city center and still have Vadsøya nature and cultural park as our nearest neighbor. The bird life is amazing, and we also have arctic hares running around us. We just love Varanger!

Breaking News !!!!! Update on marine mammals outside Vadsøya today. Local fishermen report humpback whales, orcas and several species of dolphin. Are you interested in nature and in the area around Vadsø and the Varangerfjord at the moment, it is well worth watching what is happening on the sea 😊🐳.

Finally there is a little snow on the ground also here in the arctic. The hotel gardener who has been unemployed since September finally has something to do.

A guest that visited our hotel in June asked the following: «Isn’t it depressing to live here through the polar night?» We said it’s far from depressing. But when the guest did not quite belive us. We chose to show him some of these pictures. The guest ended up booking a new stay with us in November. We call it the color season! Take a break for a few minutes and enjoy it

Frode fikk blomster fra Næringsforeningen i helgen. Hyggelig at vårt lille bidrag for å skape arena for samarbeid og utvikling i det lokale næringslivet blir satt pris på.

Det nærmer seg siste mulighet for å sikre seg julebords opplevelse ved Vadsø Fjordhotell for i år. Fortsatt mulig å sikre seg plass ved årets siste julebord, den 15.12. Julebordsbuffe med varme og kalde tradisjonsretter og et rikholdig dessertbord. Den høyst dansbare musikken for kvelden står Gemmen og Ole Jørgen for. Booking: [email protected]

Varanger, Arctic Norway has a lot to offer if you do as the local vikings

The tempratures has been very high this summer in Varanger. Frode had no other option today, when at the cabin, than seek refuge in the tempered water of a nearby lake. Not every year we get to experience this. At the moment of the clip it is 30 degrees celcius in the shade at the cabin, and watertemp in the lake is between 22 and 24 degrees. 3 km in land from Ekkerøy.
